ARTISTRY IN FUSION WITH LIVEABOARD DIVING

The Arenui is the pride anda joy of its owner and one of the most exquisite vessels sailing anywhere. An amazing 70 percent of the hand-carved teak wood in the ship is recycled, originally used in Javanese houses.

On the sky deck you find, just in front of the bridge, the inviting open-air dining area, a perfect place for fabulous al fresco meals .... and double lounge chairs, each big enough for 2 people & bean bags to snuggle into. Just behind the wheelhouse, you'll find the large & exotic exterior lounge, with cushioned sunbeds & an exterior shower.  A shade canopy is available for those who wish to avoid the direct rays. Just below the al fresco dining, on the main deck, is the spacious interior restaurant / lounge with more than 100 movies to choose from - to watch in the lounge area or for those with an individual DVD player, in the privacy of your own cabin.   The main deck features a super-sized dive deck on the fore deck and 4 of the exquisite cabins, including 2 master-suites at the aft of the vessel.  The remaining 4 deluxe cabins are located on the lower deck.  Each cabin is individually themed and decorated with hand-crafted articles & textiles from a range of Indonesian islands.

As to the cuisine, you'll enjoy wonderful meals and a tempting wine list !  Most days begin with a small breakfast, then a full buffet breakfast after the morning dive. Lunch is buffet style but the evening meal is served a-la-carte with a number of choices.  Snacks are available throughout the day.

As it seems everyone is a budding underwater photographer today, the vessel is fully equipped to cater to your needs. You'll find 2 computers set up for both PC and MAC systems (with photo editing software). There are charging stations for all your equipment, extension cords and adaptors to cater to different systems and plenty of table space for using your own laptops.

    ITINERARIES

Arenui has chosen the best dive sites based at the best times of year to explore these world famous destinations. In addition to visiting all the usual popular diving sites of Indonesia she visits other world-class destinations, which are often overlooked.  Her itineraries include Komodo, Alor & Flores, Forgotten Islands, Maluku, Banda Sea and Raja Ampat. Most itineraries will include island visits where possible.

    Arenui's Annual Cycle:

From May to October, Arenui cruises the Komodo National Park area, taking in dive sites and landscapes from Bali right across to Flores and Alor, which can be dived all year round.

In November she moves towards Ambon in Maluku and the Spice Islands in the Banda Sea

She continues to work her way to the Raja Ampat area of Western Papua (the the world ‘epicentre of marine biodiversity’).

Arenuithen cruises in Raja Ampat from December through until April, before traveling back towards Alor and Komodo National Park.

Komodo - perhaps the most diverse of all diving in the Indonesian archipelago.  There are seamounts, walls, canyons and pinnacles as well as the spectacular coral gardens.  There a hot spring at an underwater volcano, great night dives on black sand slopes with creepy, crawly critters.  Numerous sites tout pelagic fish, sharks & mantas but, be assured that at each dive site, you'll experience something different.

Ambon – If you love crazy critters, Ambon is hard to beat. Get your lens ready for rhinopias, pegasus sea moths, countless varieties of frog fish, seahorse, flamboyant cuttlefish, ghost pipe fish and star gazers. Lesser known is the south side of Ambon, which features great colourful walls, caves, swim throughs and healthy reef life with large fish … and more critters.

Banda Sea, Alor - In Alor & the Banda Sea, you'll find clear waters full of masses of fish & loads of invertebrates ... plus alluring critters.  As to topography, you'll find shear drops, huge pinnacles, great walls  ... all covered with rich & thriving corals which attract diverse fish life.  Add to that, visiting pelagics and you have a magical mix.

Raja Ampat - Indonesia's shining underwater jewel, Raja Ampat has something of nearly everything a diver could want. You’ll dive channels, plateaus, walls & caves … and just plain mud, for the delight of “muck” diving. You'll swim amongst great swirls of fish and feast your eyes on sponges & corals in scintillating colors. You’ll meet up close & personal, everything from pygmy seahorses to colossal manta rays.
