    ITINERARIES

Valentina dives the Sea of Cortez from the Bay of La Paz and Socorro from Puerto Los Cabos.

View the highlights of these trips and an itinerary map....... open
The final itinerary is, of course, always dependent upon weather, sea conditions and where the best animal sightings are at any particular time of year

Sites you are likely to visit during your Sea of Cortez adventure:

    Los Islotes

This big rock is where a colony of over 400 lively & playful sea lions live.  It's a thrill a minute for divers.  At the south side of the rock, on the sand with a water depth about 46 to 60 ft, you can find giant Blue-spotted Jawfish showing their faces from the sand. They have a fist-sized head. Also Mobula rays are sometimes spotted and you can expect encounters with schools of migratory fish such as the Mexican Barracuda.

    El Bajo

Largely a site for drift dives, El Bajo is well known to have hammerhead sharks, whale sharks and marlin .... plus hundreds of bonitos or skip jacks.

    Punta Lobo

This is a famous point with Mobula rays. Groups of 20 are common and visible in many areas. The Mobula season starts from July and generally hits it peak in September to October. The mobulas can number in the thousands.

    Whale Island

On the southwest side of this whale-shaped island there is a ship wreck and some caves which are filled with sea fans.

    La Paz Bay

The last day of your cruise, if conditions are right, should give you the opportunity to swim with whale sharks here in La Paz Bay.

    Swannee Reef

Multitudes of Mexican goatfish and Spot-tail grunt fish are the main attraction here. On the other hand, you can see Signal blennies and try to film them as they display their quirky behavior darting in and out of their hiding spots.  You can also see schools of skip jacks and barracudas ... plus sea lions burst onto the scene.

    Salvatierra Wreck

A sunken ferry at about 65 feet of depth makes a delightful wreck dive. There are many super-sized grunts and angelfish who hang out here.

    Cabo Pulmo

Because of the depths (up to one hundred and thirty feet) and the powerful currents, this locale is only recommended for advanced divers. This dive site is very active, with large schools of Jacks and lone Bull Sharks etc.
