    SAIL & DIVE

At 35 meters in length, Diva Andaman provides plenty of space for a maximum of 14 guests.  For your relaxation hours, the 200 square meters of deck ensures you'll have your own space to soak up the sun, read, chat or just stare at the beautiful islands.   The huge foredeck offers a few sun loungers plus a large area covered with a bimini where you'll find a low table and seating on floor cusions in the traditional Thai style.  The equally spacious top deck, above the restaurant & wheelhouse, features more loungers (with parasols when the boat isn't moving) as well as the al fresco dining area where meals are often served.  All 7 cabins are on the lower deck.

The wood-panelled restaurant & salon offers interior dining for inclement days and an open-plan galley so you can watch the chef work his wonders. Breakfasts include international & Thai choices, Lunch buffet is usually a Thai spread (soup, noodles, rice, a stir-fry, a curry and salads).  Dining under the stars is the Diva’s signature experience. A three-course meal, Asian fusion-style, with tableside service is enjoyed on the upper deck. Fresh salads and herbs come from the onboard hanging garden.  Please let us know when you book if you have dietary restrictions.

The dive deck is located at the stern on the main deck with plenty of space for 14 divers.  You can also enjoy island tours on certain cruises and kayaking when the boat is at anchor.

    ITINERARIES

Diva Andaman concentrates on trips to Thailand's Similan Islands and Richelieu Rock but on her schedule offers periodic forays into Burma's Mergui Archipelago.  On rare occasions, she does trips to the Andaman Islands. For full-boat charters, additional options are available.

Similan Islands  -  These islands, just off the west coast of Thailand, offer a wide range of dive sites, complexity, and conditions – keeping it exciting for divers with varying levels of experience. From deep canyons and swim-throughs to white sandy slopes. Strong currents on one side of the islands can trigger feeding frenzies and exciting underwater action.  Calm dives, of the other side, take you to the 13 underwater sculptures that were submerged as a Tsunami memorial.  You'll find expansive coral gardens, an abundance of marine life, large schools of fish and frequent sightings of sea turtles, giant manta rays & whale sharks (in season), harlequin shrimp, pipefish and seahorses.

Burma Banks (Mergui Archipelago) - The Mergui Archipelago, in southern Myanmar, consists of more than 800 rugged islands. ‘Black Rock’ in the north is a manta-ray cleaning station and an exciting place to encounter unexpected pelagic species. ‘Three Islets’ in the sheltered region has an exciting swim through – a submarine cave that traverses the island from east to west. Pinnacles, canyons, drop-offs, shelves, sandbanks are some of the topography to expect.  In addition to brilliantly colored corals, you'll dive with grey reef sharks, ribbon eels, frogfish, mobula rays, manta rays, slipper lobsters, ghost pipefish and a large number of nurse sharks.

     TRAVEL & CRUISE LOGISTICS

A few airlines have direct international flights into Phuket, which is where the boat leaves from for Similan Islands trips.  Howerver, for most travellers, the more practical solution is an international flight to Bangkok, Thailand (BKK).  It's then a quick flight from Bangkok to Phuket (HKT).

For trips into Myanmar (Burma), Diva Andaman departs Ranong, Thailand, which is roughly 250 kilometers north of Phuket Island.  International flights should be booked to Bangkok (BKK).  From here you can transfer to Bangkok's second airport Don Mueang Airport (DMK) to fly to Ranong Domestic Airport (UNN).
